In this episode of Through The Rough, Tessa revisits the night everything shifted: the physical warning signs she tried to push through, the terrifying drive when her body started failing her, and the emotional aftermath of believing she had somehow caused it herself.

What follows is not just a story about crisis. It is a story about support, repair, and the kind of self-compassion that can feel impossible when you are still inside the worst part of it.

“I was on the middle of the interstate, busy interstate, and all of a sudden I started to lose feeling in my feet. At first I was like, do I have a foot cramp? What is happening?”

Later, when shame started to take over, her mom offered the words she needed most: “Honey, you didn’t do this. This is not your fault.”

That is the heart of this conversation: survival, support, and the slow practice of being gentler with yourself after the roughest moments.

Listen to the full episode and share it with someone who needs a reminder to be nicer to themselves.
